Fabiola Jesavel Flores Nava

Fabiola Jesavel Flores Nava holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Humanities, specializing in History, from the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM), and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

She has been a full-time Associate Professor (Category C) at the Faculty of Economics since February 2017, having been appointed through the Young Academics Incorporation System. For over six years, she has taught courses in General Economic History and State and Society in Globalization, emphasizing historical analyses of Modern World-Systems Theory. She directs undergraduate and master's theses and advises doctoral dissertations on topics related to the Critique of Political Economy and world economic history. She coordinated the PAPIIT project (registration number IA303618), entitled “Rethinking Economic History: Economic, Political, and Social Manifestations of the Structural Crisis of Capitalism in Mexico, 1973–2010” (January 2018–December 2019).

She is a member of the National System of Researchers (C). She has published articles in prestigious international journals. She is the editor of the journal: Contrahistorias. Pensamiento Crítico y contracultura (Counterhistories: Critical Thought and Counterculture). She has organized and presented lectures on numerous occasions, addressing topics that critically examine and reflect on economic development projects in Mexico and around the world. She is the coordinator of the book (in press): La crisis estructura del capitalismo: estudios de caso, México y Estados Unidos (The Structural Crisis of Capitalism: Case Studies, Mexico and the United States).
