Fernando Escalante Gonzalbo. (Mexico, 1962) is a sociologist and professor at the Center for International Studies at El Colegio de México. He studied International Relations and Sociology at El Colegio de México. He has taught at UNAM, CIDE, FLACSO, ITAM, at the University of Chicago, at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, and at the Ortega y Gasset University Institute in Madrid. In his academic work, he has dealt above all with citizenship, the publishing industry and public life, almost always from what could be identified as a sociology of social representations.
