Francisco José Amparán Hernández (October 23, 1957 – July 4, 2010), better known as Francisco Amparán, was a short story writer, academic and journalist from the Comarca Lagunera. He was a friend of Paco Ignacio Taibo II and part of the International Association of Police Writers. Although most of his work was in short stories, his only novel "Other faces of Paradise" anticipated the literature of Feminicide in northern Mexico and was reissued in 2013 by Editorial Almadía.
