Master in Administration from ITESO. Bachelor's degree in Economics from ITESM. He began his professional career in 1969. As an economist he has worked mainly in the General Acceptance Company, in the Secretariat of the Presidency, in the National Popular Subsistence Company, the Secretariat of Commerce, Bancomer (Guadalajara and Mexico City) and the Bank of Mexico (Guadalajara).
He was a professor at the University of Monterrey, at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City campus. At ITESO he has taught since 1983 and, in 2016, he was appointed Director of Planning. Currently, his academic fields of interest are: the history of business, the economics of culture, regional economics, and subjective well-being and quality of life.
