GEORG GRODDECK was born in Bad Kösen, Germany, in 1866, and died in Knonau in 1934. A physician and writer, he is regarded as the pioneer of psychosomatic medicine. He is also known for his correspondence with Freud about psychoanalytic concepts and inspired El libro del Ello, an epistolary novel in which, through a fictitious relationship, he investigates the subconscious. Other of Groddeck's works are The Guts, Writings and On It. In 2014 Sexto Piso published The search of souls, a psychoanalytic novel.
