Giovanni Pozzi (Locarno, 1923-Lugano, 2002) was an eminent Italianist who taught Italian Literature at the University of Freiburg. Among his numerous publications it is worth highlighting especially La parola dipinta (1981) and Sull’orlo del visibile parlare (1993). The original limited, non-venal edition of Tacet first appeared in 2001.
