Giuseppe Vacca (Bari, 1939) is president of the Fondazione Istituto Gramsci (Rome) and of the scientific commission in charge of publishing the writings of Antonio Gramsci.

Historian of political thought, he has devoted numerous studies to the Gramscian corpus, including Gramsci e Togliatti (1991), Appuntamenti with Gramsci (1999) and Modernità alternative. Il Novecento di Antonio Gramsci (2017). He has also directed numerous recovery investigations, and first editions, of the Letters from Prison and the Prison Notebooks.
