Gonzalo Celorio

Gonzalo Celorio (Mexico, 1948), novelist and essayist, is a professor in the Faculty of Arts of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where he teaches Latin American Professor of Literature since 1974 has also taught at other universities in Mexico, Latin America and Spain. It is a full member of the Mexican Academy of Language and corresponding member of the Royal Spanish Academy and the Cuban Academy of Language. He has published a dozen books, including essays on literature and architecture, as Sedentary trip count; Mexico, City Paper and Testing counter-conquest, and novels and retiemble land at their centers; Three cute self love and Cuba, all published by Tusquets, which have won praise from critics and other writers. His work has been translated into English, French, Italian, Greek and Portuguese, and has won awards including the Prize of Two Oceans (Biarritz, 1997), the National Novel Award IMPAC-Conarte- ITESM (1999) and National Literature of Mexico (2010).
