Günther Haensch (1923), Professor Emeritus of Applied Linguistics (Romance Languages) and former Director of the Centre for Modern Languages at the University of Augsburg (Germany). Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Munich, which in turn earned a second doctorate which gave her the chair. Translator and interpreter at numerous conferences and international conferences and in diplomatic negotiations. Since 1969 he came to devote himself fully to the University as Professor cash, teaching at the Universities of Erlangen-Nuremberg and Augsburg, where he currently is a professor emeritus._x000D_
He founded the Sprach-und Dolmetscherinstitut and the German Association of Hispanics, as well as director and contributor to the magazines "Lebende Sprachen" and "Language" in Munich. He has published over 100 articles and 300 reviews philological, educational, etc.. addition to numerous works of authorship, co-authored and under his direction._x000D_
Appointed member of the Royal Spanish Academy and its institutions counterparts in Argentina, Chile, New York, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Peru and El Salvador. He has been awarded several distinctions among which the task of the Order of Isabel the Catholic, the Spanish Government, the Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the International Prize Elio Antonio de Nebrija and López Nieto Prize awarded by the Spanish Royal Academy._x000D_
In addition to works on philology and lexicography, Professor Haensch has paid special attention to the theory and practice of modern language teaching. Similarly, has always emphasized the importance of integrating language teaching studies of civilization of the countries whose languages are studied in colleges, universities, etc.. And in recent years, his studies include Latin American Spanish, topics on which he has given countless lectures and written several works in collaboration with Reinhold Werner, his successor in the chair.
