Gustavo Ramírez Piñón was born in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua, in 1965. He moved to Mexico City at a very young age, where his family lived for a few months in the Tlatelolco housing complex before relocating to what is now the Gustavo A. Madero borough. He spent his entire childhood and adolescence in the Gertrudis Sánchez neighborhood. He studied economics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has worked for almost forty years in the Mexican financial system, both in private institutions and development banks, which led him to live for several years in Tijuana and Guadalajara, where he currently resides. *En esta esquina* (On This Corner) is his first book of short stories.
