Héctor Strobel holds a doctorate in history from El Colegio de México and was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Historical Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He specializes in the military, social, and political history of the Liberal Reform and the French Intervention in Mexico. In 2021 he deserved the International Commission of Military History award for "Resisting is winning". He is the author of works such as The Liberal Army in the Reform and Xalapa during the French Intervention and the Second Empire; He also coordinated the volume The Battle of Camarón and other episodes of the French intervention. He is a member of the National System of Researchers.
