Ian Curtis

Ian Curtis

Ian Curtis - (Manchester, 1956 - Macclesfield, 1980) committed suicide at twenty-three after a life marked by illness, depression and fear. In July of 1976, during a concert of the Sex Pistols, he met Bernard Summer and Peter Hook, with whom he would found Joy Division. The band would have an ephemeral career cut short by the death of its singer and lyricist, but it left an indelible mark on the history of pop music and also, as this book proves, in the history of poetry.
