Ian Shaw

Ian Shaw

Ian Shaw, editor of "History of Ancient Egypt", studied Archaeology and Egyptology at the University of Cambridge and received his doctorate with a thesis dedicated to the archaeological remains of Tell el Amarna. He later researched the mines and quarries of ancient Egypt as a researcher at the British Academy in New Hall, Cambridge. He is currently Professor of Archaeology of Egypt at the University of Liverpool. His publications include "Ancient Egyptian Warfare and Weapons" (1992), "The Dictionary of Archaeology" (1999), "Ancient Egyptian materials and technology" (2000) and "Akal Dictionary of Ancient Egypt" (2004).
