Ignacio Sánchez-Cuenca Valencia, Spain, 1966
He graduated in Philosophy from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1985 After earning a master's degree in Social Sciences at the Juan March Institute in 1995 his Ph.D. in Sociology at the Complutense University. He was Assistant Professor at the University of Salamanca, associate professor in the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona professor and visiting professor at Yale University. Between 1998 and 2008 he was Professor of Political Science at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Juan March Institute, of which he is director of research since 2008 Since 2002 he is Professor of Sociology at the Complutense University. Sánchez-Cuenca investigates especially comparative politics, terrorism, electoral behavior and democratic theory. He is the author of several books, and has published numerous papers in leading Spanish and international journals of their discipline, as well as numerous chapters in various books. Since 2004 he is member of the American Political Science Association Task Force on Political, Violence and Terrorism, and integrates several editorial boards of journals in his specialty.
