Itzel Guevara del Ángel

Xalapa, 1976. Narrator and reading promoter. She is the author of the story books Santas Madrecitas (conaculta, 2008) and A que le femen los niños (ivec, 2018), of the children's book El jardín de las worried (Editora de Gobierno del Estado de Veracruz, 2018) and of the novels Nail biting (Editorial Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, 2017) and A house with a garden (Literary Swarm, 2019). His narrative work has been published in anthologies from Mexico, the United States, Colombia and Austria, such as: Sides B (Nitro Press, 2015), Lateinamerika (Podium, 2015), Solo Cuento VIII (unam, 2016) and Writers who tell ( Ediciones Universidad Central de Colombia, 2018), to name a few.

He has taken writing workshops at the University of Texas El Paso utep and at the Central University of Colombia.

In 2016, he obtained second place in the National Short Novel Prize of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Bogotá puj, in addition to winning first place in the Seventh Children's Story Contest in the amateur category 2017.

His work has been published in newspapers and literary magazines in Mexico, the United States of America, Colombia and Austria, such as Tierra Adentro, Revista de Literatura Mexicana Contemporánea, Revista Javeriana and Rio Grande Review, among others. In addition, it has been translated into German.

Currently, he is studying the Specialization in Reading Promotion at the Universidad Veracruzana uv and for the last 15 years he has been in charge of school libraries in Xalapa, Veracruz.
