Jan de Kinder

Jan from Kinder. He was born in Dendermonde and grew up in Lebbeke. He studied applied graphics and illustration at the Saint-Lucas Institute in Brussels. He also studied drawing at the Leuven Municipal Academy. He lives in Tienen with his wife and his three reading beasts. Since 1988 he has been working as an illustrator of children's books for various publishers. In 2002 he debuted as a writer with the picture book Mathilde and later with A boy playing hide-and-seek with the wind. He also gives lectures and workshops in schools and libraries in Flanders and the Netherlands. He has illustrated more than 40 books.
