He was born in 1960 in Asturias, Spain. He studied teaching in Santander and began working in public schools in 1984. He currently works as a primary school teacher. He is a writer and researcher in the field of children's literature and reading promotion. He has been decorated with several awards, both national and international. About his work, he says: "It is very exciting to receive the images that illustrators paint with my words. Childhood is in my life constantly, in my two professions and I feel happy about it."
