Poet and novelist Jean-Pierre Ostende was born in 1954 and lives in Marseille, where he practices his craft as a writer in the broadest and freest sense of the term: apart from his narrative work – published mainly by Gallimard – Ostende divides his time between writing projects and residencies, readings and workshops for schoolchildren and prisoners, or collaboration on exhibitions and catalogues of artists.
