Jean-Yves Tadié, born in 1936, holds a doctorate in Letters and professor emeritus at the Sorbonne (Paris IV). Biographer and expert on Marcel Proust in 1987 led the new edition of In Search of Lost for the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade, awarded the prize of the French Académie time. He is also director of "Folio classique" collections "Folio théâtre".
Jean-Yves Tadié has been director of the Institut Français in London and a professor at Oxford. He is currently vice president of the Societe des Amis de Marcel Proust.
