Jerome Baschet. He is a professor at the School of Higher Studies in Social Sciences of Paris (EHESS) and at the Autonomous University of Chiapas, in San Cristóbal de las Casas. His research studies the intersection between social representations and images and the dynamics that led to the colonization of America. He works, on the one hand, on the representations that structure medieval Christianity and its visual expressions; on the other hand, about the politics and forms of alternative organization that Zapatismo proposes, especially about its conceptions of history. He is the author of classic works of medieval history such as The Feudal Civilization. Europe from the year 1000 to the colonization of America (FCE, 2009).
