Jesus Mosterín (Bilbao, 1941) is one of the largest Hispanic internationally renowned philosophers and one of the few contemporary thinkers who move freely in the border between science and philosophy. He is Professor of Philosophy Research Institute of CSIC, Professor of Logic and Philosophy of Science at the University of Barcelona and fellow of the Center of Philosophy of Science in Pittsburgh. Author of numerous books and technical articles, also works in the media. It is an outstanding figure in the philosophy of biology and contemporary reflection on the relationship of human beings with other animals. He has participated in activities against the destruction of natural ecosystems and the mistreatment of animals in several countries as well as in the recent campaign that so far has culminated in the abolition of bullfighting in Catalonia.
