John Gage (Bromley, 1938-2012) was a professor and head of the Department of Art History at the University of Cambridge. His academic work on color and the arts is internationally recognized. On the subject he has written Color and Meaning (Acantilado, 2023), Color and Culture (1993) and Color in Art (2006).
