Johnny Marr

John Martin Maher (October 31, 1963, Ardwick, Manchester), better known by his stage name Johnny Marr, is a British composer, guitarist, harmonica player, keyboardist and singer. He achieved fame in the 1980s as guitarist for the English band The Smiths, where he collaborated productively in the composition of musical themes with the group's vocalist, Morrissey. He was also a member of The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse, The Cribs, Johnny Marr and the Healers and 7 Worlds Collide. In 2003, the American magazine Rolling Stone included Marr in the fifty-first position of its list of the hundred best guitarists of all time.
