José Antonio Garriga Vela (Barcelona, ​​1954) is a regular contributor to various newspapers and magazines, and the author of various short story books, novels, and plays. As a novelist, highly celebrated by specialized critics, he has published Muntaner, 38 (1996), which received the Jaén Prize for a Novel, The Rose Seller (2000), Those Who Are Not (2001), which earned him the Alfonso García Prize Ramos, and Pacífico (2008), which, in addition to being extremely well received by critics, received the 2009 Dulce Chacón Prize for Narrative.
