Joseba Gabilondo, after teaching at Duke University, Bryn Mawr College and University of Florida among others, is a professor of Peninsular Literature and culture at Michigan State University. Among his vast works, titles such as Remains of the Nation: Prolegomena to a Post-National History of Contemporary Basque Literature (2006) stand out; New York-Martutene: On the utopia of Basque post-nationalism and the crisis of neoliberal globalization (2013, Euskadi Essay Prize); Before Babel: A History of Basque Literatures (2016); Atlantic Spain and literature: post-imperialism and the long 19th century (2016) and Populisms: global sovereignty and Basque independence (2017). His next work will be titled Postimperialism, Postnacionalism, and Populism in Spain.
