Josep Solanes

Josep Solanes (Pla de Santa Maria, 1909 - Valencia, Venezuela, 1991) graduated in medicine from the University of Barcelona in 1932; after the Civil War was exiled to France, where he collaborated with several Catalan publications. In 1949 he settled in Caracas, where he became a benchmark of psychiatry and took his work, dedicated to the figure of the exiled, to the areas of teaching, research and medical practice. Intellectual and humanist, he obtained his doctorate in letters from the University of Toulouse Le Mirail in 1980, at the age of seventy-one.
