
Juan Andrés y Morell (Planes, Alicante, February 15, 1740 - Rome, January 12, 1817) was a Spanish Jesuit priest and writer in Spanish, Italian and Latin languages, as well as a humanist, scientist and literary critic of the Enlightenment. father of universal comparative literature. He is considered the main figure of the Spanish Universalist School of the 18th century.
