Juan Carlos Rodríguez

Juan Carlos Rodríguez (Granada, 1944-2016) has been one of the most relevant figures in Spanish literary philosophy and theory. Professor of Spanish Literature at the University of Granada, a disciple of Louis Althusser in Paris, his essay work is essential to understand the ideological construction of literature; on his theories the ideology of "The Other Sentimentality" in Granada is based, on which the so-called Poetry of Experience is then built. Among his vast theoretical work, from the seminal "Theory and history of ideological production. The first bourgeois literatures" (Akal, 1974 and 1990), "Lorca and the sense.
