He has been working as a professor of Contemporary History since 2001 at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Previously, he was a tenured scientist at the CSIC and professor of History at the Complutense University. Specializing in social history, studies on nationalisms and historiography, his most recent publications include: The liberal revolutions of the 19th century: capitalist industrialization, sociopolitical struggles and cultural modernization (2017); Against power. Conflicts and social movements in the History of Spain (2015); with Eduardo Manzano, Memoria historica (2010); and with other authors: Republican experiences in the history of Spain (2015) and Los bombardeos de Barcelona (2014). He considers working in teaching to be a social privilege. From this facet of his curriculum, he highlights the direction of important doctoral theses and numerous master's and dissertations.
