Julio Scherer García (Mexico, D.F., April 7, 1926 - Mexico, D.F., January 7, 2015) was a Mexican journalist and writer, director of the Excelsior newspaper from 1968 to 1976. He was founder of the Semanario Proceso. Until his death, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of CISA S.A. of C.V. He passed away on January 7, 2015 as a result of a septic shock in Mexico City.
