Knud Rasmussen

KNUD RASMUSSEN (Jakobshavn, Greenland, 1879-Copenhagen, 1933), ethnographer, anthropologist and explorer, his father was Danish and his mother, Greenlandic Inuit. To him we owe the most precious knowledge of this and other peoples of the Arctic region. He was the first man to cross the Northwest Passage in a dogsled.
