(1965) is professor of Science of the Old Testament and of History of the religion of the ancient Judaism in the Faculty of Theology of the University of Zurich, of which he was dean. He is a member of the Institute for Advanced Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and a member of the Society of Biblical Literature, among other scientific institutions. Among his monographs should be noted: Gibt is Theologie im Alten Testament? (2013), translated into English; Schriftgelehrte Traditionsliteratur (2011), and Hiob als biblisches und antikes Buch (2010).
