Louis Roy was born in Quebec Canada in 1942. He studied literature, philosophy and theology, and in 1984 his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. It belongs to the Order of the Dominicans. He taught at the Pastoral Institute of Montreal, is currently responsible for the chair of fundamental theology at Boston College and the Dominican University College in Ottawa. His interest focuses on the affective, intellectual and mystical religious experience. He has published numerous articles and books that include: Self-Actualization and the Radical Gospel (2002), Mystical Consciousness: Western Perspectives and Dialogue with Japanese Thinkers (2003), and Coherent Cristianity (2005).
