He was born in Buenos Aires in 1961. He has a PhD in biology from the UBA Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences and from the University of Barcelona. He works as a marine biologist and researches the ecology, evolution and behavior of marine mammals. He is an associate researcher at the Institute of Biodiversity and Evolutionary Biology of the University of Valencia in Spain. He published numerous scientific articles in specialized magazines, technical book chapters and encyclopedias, and articles for scientific dissemination. He was a university, secondary and tertiary teacher. He is the director of the Puerto Quequén hydrobiological station. He also works as head of the laboratory of ecology, behavior and marine mammals of the Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences "Bernardino Rivadavia".
