He is a biologist, phD in basic ecology from the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Since 2000 he has worked in that study house as a researcher at the Institute of Biology. He was curator of the National Fish Collection and in charge of the Pedregal Ecological Reserve of San Angel. He has taught philosophy and history of biology at the Faculty of Sciences, as well as ecology for urban planners at the Faculty of Architecture. He is a member of the Aldo Leopold Leadership Program at Stanford University.
