Manuel Alvar Ezquerra (Zaragoza 1950) is a philologist, lexicographer and Spanish professor.

Professor of Spanish Language at the Complutense University of Madrid, Andalusia and corresponding member of the Royal Spanish Academy. He is the son of the famous philologist Manuel Alvar, and brother of teachers and researchers in various branches of the humanities, the professor of Romance philology Carlos Alvar (n. 1951), researcher and doctor of tropical medicine Jorge Alvar Ezquerra (n. 1952) the professor of Latin philology Antonio Alvar Ezquerra (n. 1954), the professor and expert historian in Ancient History Jaime Alvar Ezquerra (n. 1955) and lecturer and specialist in the Spain of the Golden Alfredo Alvar (n. 1960 ).

Its activities are directed both to practice and to the theoretical lexicography, with special attention to the description of the dictionaries of the past, and lexicology of Spanish, in addition to cultivated other areas of the Spanish language.
