Marcos Novaro (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1965) has a degree in Sociology and a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires. In 1992 he obtained a diploma in Constitutional Law and Political Science from the Madrid Center for Constitutional Studies. He is principal investigator of the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and associate professor of Contemporary Political Theory at the Faculty of Social Sciences (UBA). He has directed a dozen research projects and taught postgraduate courses at various national and foreign universities. He currently coordinates the Political History Program of the Gino Germani Institute and the Oral History Archive of Contemporary Argentina, and since 2006 he is director of the Center for Political Research (CIPOL). He has been a consultant to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the State of Democracy in Latin America program, Fulbright fellow at George Washington University and Columbia University (2006) and Guggenheim fellow between 2008 and 2009. He has published numerous books, in addition to articles in national and foreign specialized magazines, and regularly collaborates in various Argentine media.
