Margarita Vinagre holds an MPhil in Applied Linguistics from Trinity College Dublin and a PhD in English from the University of Seville. She has taught Spanish and English Linguistics at Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University and Nebrija and Carlos III Universities in Madrid. She is currently an Associate Professor at Autónoma University of Madrid where she teaches English Language and Linguistics on the undergraduate degree programmes. She also teaches New Technologies on the Master's Programme in Applied Linguistics and TEFL at the same university. Her main research interests focus on the use of technologies in language learning and the development of linguistic and intercultural competences in the foreign language classroom. She has published her research in specialized journals such as Computers & Education, CALL, Language Learning & Technology, System and the British Journal of Educational Technology. She has co-ordinated research projects on telecollaboration and foreign language learning with Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University, Dublin Institute of Technology, The Open University UK and Hogeschool Utrecht. Currently, she is the co-ordinator and main researcher in an international research project on telecollaboration with 20 participants from 5 different countries.
