Maria Gianola was born in Venice in 1969 and began to draw secretly in her school notebooks. At the age of eight she received her first prize as an illustrator. She since then she has not stopped. After completing university studies, she has devoted herself to oil painting and, later, to illustration. She likes to take her three girls for a walk through the streets of her incredible city, searching every day for new secret corners, and sailing through the small islands of the lagoon by boat.
