PhD in Sociology from the New School for Social Research, Master in Political and Social Studies from the Faculty of Political Science of the Autonomous University of Mexico, and Bachelor of Political Science from the same institution. She is currently Coordinator of the Bachelor of Political Science and Public Administration at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico City. This after having made a postdoctoral research stay in the History Department of the Universidad Iberoamericana. During her professional career she has been recognized with various awards and distinctions such as: The Alfred Schutz Memorial Award in Philosophy and Sociology in 2012 and New School for Social Research Dissertation Fellowship in 2008. She has extensive experience working with human rights and development organizations in Latin America and several years of work as a researcher in matters related to religious phenomena, human rights, civil society and citizen participation
