He is a doctor in Anthropology. He is a full-time Research Professor at the College of Social Anthropology at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. Research lines: Body, masculinity and gay identity.

Among his publications are the book Young gay hearts in Mexico City, edited by the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in 2005, as well as articles in various magazines: Cuicuilco, Alteridades, Mirada Antropológica, Humanística Sources, Memory, among others. He is also the author of articles published in various books. Along with Dr. Elsa Muñiz, he is the organizer of the International Congress of Arts, Humanities and Sciences "The deciphered body" that is held biannually.
