Michael Albert (born April 8, 1947) is an American anarchist activist, radical economist and intellectual who developed the proposal for participatory economics or in English PARECON with Robin Hahnel. Together with Lydia Sargent, he is the creator of the ZCom information service.

The proposal of participatory economics proposes the abolition of the market but neither does it want central planning, the class division of labor, and hierarchies in the economy. Emphasize values such as self-management, decentralization and diversity in economic decisions.
