Michel Eltchaninoff

Michel Eltchaninoff, born May 19, 1969 in Paris, is a French philosopher, journalist and essayist.

After secondary studies at Lycée Michelet (Vanves), he entered hypokhâgne and khâgne at Lycée Henri-IV (Paris). He joined the École normale supérieure de Fontenay-aux-Roses in 1989. He was admitted to the agrégation in philosophy in 19951. He defended a thesis in philosophy entitled "The expression of the body at Dostoyevsky" in 2000, under the supervision of by Françoise Dastur, at the University of Paris XII2.

After two professional stays in Russia (at the French Embassy in Moscow) and several years of teaching, at the university (University of Dijon, University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) and in secondary (Vitry-sur-Seine) , he is editor-in-chief of the monthly Philosophie Magazine.

In 2015, he traveled to Dharamsala to interview 17th Karmapa Orgyen Trinley Dorje3.

In 2016, he founded the association Les nouvelles dissidents which launched several initiatives, in particular a campaign in favor of the release of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, imprisoned in Russia, at the end of 2017 and in 2018.
