Miguel Ángel Contreras Natera is a sociologist, doctor from the Center for Development Studies (Cendes) and associate professor of Social Theory at the School of Sociology, both belonging to the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). He has been a visiting professor at the national universities of Mar del Plata, Asunción and San Martín, as well as at the universities of Seville, Buenos Aires, Massachusetts, the Institute of Foreign Studies of the University of Busan and the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences (Flacso) Paraguay. His most recent works are the post scriptum Insurgent Imaginaries and Postneoliberalism in Latin America (in "Neoliberalism, Interrupted" edited by Nancy Poster and Mark Goodale) and "Otro modo del ser o Más allá del euroccidentalismo", published by the Fundación Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos Rómulo Gallegos (Cerlag) in 2014. He recently served as director of the Social Institute of Mercosur during the period 2013-2015.
