Despite graduating as a doctor, Miguel Rellán is recognized for his role as an actor. His first steps in the profession were during his student days at the University of Seville, where he entered the Spanish University Theater and founded Esperpento, one of the most renowned independent theater groups for four years (1965-1969).

He collaborated for several years in a score of theatrical productions. From 1974, already in Madrid, he took part in theatrical productions, dramatic programs and series filmed for television and film productions, debuting with the film El perro (1979), by Antonio Isasi-Isasmendi.

He also participated in El crack and El crack II, by José Luis Garci and under the command of José Luis Cuerda in El Bosque Animated and Amanece, which is not little. Also in El perro del hortelano, by Pilar Miró.

It owes its popularity to television, having starred in successful series such as La Regenta, Menudo es mi padre or Compañeros.

Rellán's first experience as a writer was Seguro que el musico resurcita (Valdemar, 1998).
