Miljenko Jergovic was born in Sarajevo in 1966 and since 1993 resides in Zagreb (Croatia). He is a journalist and writes for the most important magazines and newspapers in his country, as well as Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Zeit or La Repubblica. His works have earned him several awards, including the international Erich-Maria-Remarque, the Grinzane Cavour for Mama Leone and the 2005 Napoli Prize for his book Hauzmajstor Sulc; in Croatia the August Senoe 2002 for Buick Rivera as well as the award from the Writers Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
