Mirko Lauer

The Peruvian writer Mirko Lauer, who was born in Zatek (ex Czechoslovakia) in 1947, is one of the most prestigious intellectuals in Latin America. Director of the veteran magazine Hueso humerus, he has been a visiting professor at various European and Latin American universities, editor at the Tusquets publishing house during the 70s, as well as a member of the steering committee of the newspaper La República and the editorial board of the London-based Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies. In 2002 he was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
