Mónica Silva Contreras

Architect with a Masters in History of Architecture and a Doctorate in Architecture from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas. Since 2010 she is a professor of architecture history at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Since 2001 he has been in charge of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at various universities on the history of architecture, as well as on modern construction techniques in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. He has published numerous works and participated in seminars and conferences in Latin America, the United States and Europe, referring to the technical knowledge of architects and engineers and their relationship with the culture and aesthetics of his time. International consultant on architectural heritage of the 20th century, among other activities he has carried out desk studies (desk reviews) of the architectural heritage assets of the 20th century nominated to the World Heritage List in 2016 and 2017. He has collaborated in the design for the rehabilitation and insertion of new uses in historic buildings, for which he has been in charge of the design details of finishes and lighting. The diffusion of several of his research projects has been made through exhibitions, for which he has been in charge of the museographic design. In the areas of interior design, he carried out remodeling projects as well as designs of furniture and commercial showcases. She was in charge of the Interior Design section of the magazine Inmuebles, in Caracas.
