Moshe Idel

Moshe Idel (Targu Neamt, Romania, 1947) emigrated in 1963 to Israel and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem doctorate in philosophy of cabal. He is a professor of Judaic Thought at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has devoted himself to the study of relations between mysticism, Hasidism and Messianism, has received prestigious awards such as Haim Nahman Bialik for Jewish Studies, the Gershom Scholem or Israel in Jewish Thought, and also published Hassidism: Between Ecstasy and Magic, between others.
