Oscar Alfonso Martinez Martinez

Oscar Alfonso Martínez Martínez, is a professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the Universidad Iberoamericana. He has been a visiting professor at Boston College, University of Valencia-Spain and University of Chile. He has coordinated various national and international research projects. In 2022 he won the National Prize in Social Research, awarded by the Center for Social Studies and Public Opinion (CESOP) of the Chamber of Deputies. In 2021 he won the National Public Finance Award, organized by the Center for Public Finance Studies of the Chamber of Deputies. In 2020 he won the state award for altruism in the academic category, awarded by the Government of the State of Mexico for his contributions to socially understanding the effects of COVID-19. In 2014 he won First Place in the Xabier Gorostiaga Chair essay contest on Inequality and Poverty in Latin America. Six-time winner (2010, 2011, 2012, 2019, 2021 and 2022) of the FICSAC-Ibero scientific production award. From 214 to 2018 he was Citizen Advisor of the Evaluation Council of Mexico City (EVALUA CDMX). From 2020 to 2024, he is an academic advisor at the Council for Research and Evaluation of Social Policy in the State of Mexico. He is the Regional Coordinator of the Network on Inequality and Poverty in Latin America of AUSJAL and President of the Mexican Network for Research in Social Policy (REMIPSO). Member of the National System of Researchers at Level 2, Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences. The lines of research he works on are: Social Welfare, Poverty and Social Policy
